As you can tell in the title, I’m apologizing to my parents.
Why you may ask? Well as you can see I got a tattoo.
They don’t know.
On April 1st I decided to get a tattoo with my friend Nick. I was aware it was Easter and I actually missed an hour of the Easter party my aunt was hosting.
My original tattoo was going to be an outline of Long Island. But as I was at the tattoo place and showed Nick, he said the small details would be hard to do since they are really small and be a pain in the ass.
So Nick picked out the outline of an NYC skyline. I asked him why this and he said since I like the city a lot and I’m in the city for school it would be great. I liked his explanation.
As the tattoo artist was drawing the outline, he asked me a question about the heart in the original. I forgot what he asked about it but I told him instead of having the heart, we could add a small video camera. Nick liked the idea of the camera since “I’m filming in the city and that I started filming in NY”.
The pain wasn’t that bad since it was on my thigh and that’s the only place where I could hide the tattoo. To me, it felt like getting a shot but then getting multiple shots creating the outline. I’m really happy with how it turned out and I do plan on getting another in the future sometime.
So, let’s keep this post a secret…
Ever since I was young my parents told me to never get a tattoo. My mother claims some religious thing about the body of Jesus or God and something about the devil. My father on the other hand either claims the same thing (even though he doesn’t go to church #Shade) or he just doesn’t like the fact about having tattoos.
Of course at the age of 10, I agreed with what they said. I’m 19 now, and well I want a tattoo.
I decided to do a little test run with a company called Inkbox. On January 26 I bought an Elma and Medici tattoo.
They looked pretty realistic to me and I put them to the test.
My father was pissed off at me during this time (currently still is) and doesn’t really talk with me. All he did was look up and shrugged. I told him it was fake and he shrugged again.
I went to my mother and I decided to tell her it was fake first. She said oh okay and was glad it was fake. She then went off how I shouldn’t get a tattoo and all this stuff about it and I walked out of the room when it was too much for me.
I couldn’t tell if it was a good test run or not with my parents but I liked tattoos more after that.
I want to get a tattoo on my ankle of an outline of Long Island. My reason behind it is since I plan to move to California in the future, I would want a reminder of where I came from.
I’ve told my friend Nick about the tattoo and he said I should just do it and hide it forever from my parents. That would be a great idea if it wasn’t going to go on my ankle. He suggested it should go above my kneecap and it would be a really cool place to have it.
Now I would do anything this kid would tell me but I just feel like it would be better on my ankle but who knows if it would look good there. Now I do plan on getting a Freehand ink bottle to test out how it would look on my ankle or above my kneecap but I really want to get an actual tattoo and I don’t know what to with my parents. I either get the tattoo now or wait till I’m 21 and leave the house.
