I know some people going to say that water fasting or even starving yourself is crazy. But, I mainly did this as a challenge to myself and of course losing a couple pounds isn’t bad.
How this even started
Last month, my friend just randomly said that she wanted to do a master cleanse and I stupidly agreed not knowing the rules of a master cleanse, which involves you drinking lemon, water, and cayenne pepper all mixed together while taking a laxative. I told her “hell no” after finding out you have to do this for 14 days. We then agreed to do a 14 day water fast, with you only drinking water.
The first day was probably the easiest considering the fact I made sure I had a FEAST before the fast. I was working which helped the day go by faster and help me forget about food. The second day, I had my day off which I spent at home (probably the worst mistake). The gallons of water I was drinking already gave me no satisfaction, since it had no taste. My cravings was so bad I ended up putting a skittle in my gallon of water for taste. But my biggest mistake was eating a piece of chicken my mother made, eating it I felt as if I was eating something so luxurious like a burger made with gold, when it was just a piece of chicken. But, I even surprised myself by only eating just one piece for that day.
DAY 3/DAY HELL
The third day was probably hardest day for me. I ended up becoming weak and tired just from simple tasks like walking up the stairs. I started to sleep and stay in bed a lot just to get rid of headaches I had. I used Instagram as a coping method by looking cooking pages, pretending that I was eating it. The fourth day, I had to work and I couldn’t even stand. People at work were eating in front of my face, and I would just stare at their plates of food. I gave up, I realized I couldn’t go another day especially while I was working. I ended up buying a sandwich and then McDonalds.
Water fasting is probably the best way to clear your system and I would do it again, but longer. Sure it’s sucks during the time you’re doing it, but afterwards you feel refreshed just like working out. In the end, I lost three pounds, my face cleared a lot, saved money, and appreciated food more.
