For almost 3 months, I have been at New York Institute of Technology and it’s a really big change compared to my school in France.
First of all, I like the fact that the buildings are more higher. At EFAP in France, there are two floors, in NYIT, there are eleven or twelve, maybe more, I don’t remember. You have the main building with the library, but also another building with the same number of floors, many classrooms on each floor, one or two TV studios. And I need that, to live in a very large city with a lots of buildings and where all is big like in New York.
I think the thing that I like best in NYIT is the fact of professors are always on your back. Not to annoy me but for me to succeed.
English is not my native language and I stopped school for four years before to integrate EFAP. I lost my English and before coming to NYIT, I was really anxious not to understand people, to be alone, and to fail my last semester of my third year. You can’t know the relief that it was to see the help of the professors who show they are with me and not against me. I feel motivated after class to do my homework, because I think that they believe in me. It’s sure, I have gaps in English and I’m not the best but I listen to all comments that they make me and I try to improve. It is very important for me maybe because I am almost 26. It’s not always easy but I have to stay focus despite the charge of homework and my internship.
