I’m honestly so over the Kylie Jenner liquid lipstick obsession. Now you can call me a hater if you want but Kylie Jenner Cosmetics don’t live up to the hype that’s been given to them and if I’m keeping it real, its the names that pushes her brand more than anything else, in my opinion. Not to say her liquid lipsticks are horrible because they aren’t, they’re long lasting, pigmented and applies smoothly which should be expected of any liquid lipstick but any other brand of liquid lipstick would be just a good or even better.
Why? Well every time we turn around Kylies company is involved with some craziness and as a potential customer I don’t feel confident in buying her product anymore. If its not the freshly destroyed lip brushes then its the more or less half empty containers being mailed out to buyers and a bunch of nonsense in between. Then on top of that there’s is literally a dupe for every single one of the lipstick colors. But what I really just wont except is thirty plus dollars for a liquid lipstick and lip pencil.
Let that settle for a minute, thirty dollars for a liquid lipstick and a lip pencil.
Now ladies listen, if we’re going to waste that amount money on a product, lets waste it on the right product. Hey, listen I’m a victim too, I’ve spent more money on liquid lipsticks than books for school within the two years of my college career. Trust, I understand we expect the expensive brands to be the best and after buying them we feel all luxurious, like we’re coming up in the makeup world. But there are other alternatives that are just as good.
Say you love how long lasting Kylie’s lipsticks are well in my experience I’ve never seen a liquid lipstick last from day to night like the Colourpop collection. Also if you love how pigmented Kylies lipsticks are than you’d love Kat Von D‘s Liquid lipstick. They’re literally so pigmented that I hear that they can cover tattoos, although I’ve never try it but honestly, I’d expect no less from a tattoo artist. Then if you love how soft Kylies cosmetics feel on your lips than the Anastasia Beverly Hill liquid lipsticks would be a great alternative and I highly, highly recommend the color Aston, it’s magical and looks great on everyone. But if Anastasia’s not in your price range, NYX Lingerie Collection is literally the softest, most buttery matte liquid lipstick on the market today, in my opinion. Like seriously, they’re lingerie liquid lipstick is truly everything to me and you should really try it out.
Now that I think about it can we please start showing some love to the inexpensive brands out there because a lot of them work just as well as the those big name cosmetics. Like Colourpop for an example, if you haven’t heard of it, it’s the bread and butter of my soul, lol. It also just so happens to be the sister brand to Kylie’s cosmetics and literally a quarter of the price.
Now I’m not saying if buy Kylie’s liquid lipsticks that your crazy or anything, I don’t judge. You do you boo but there are so many great alternatives out there. In fact I don’t even know whats all out there, so let me know in the comments.
