Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, so I want to talk about the trend of it in China. In each year on February 14, Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular traditional festival of the West. This festival is about love and romance. On that day, men and women send gifts like flowers, chocolate, greeting card to each other to express love or friendship. Already became Europe and the United States youth favorite holiday, other countries have also started to pop. At present, this festival also become popular in other countries, especially in China.
Men usually give red roses to express love to women in Valentine’s Day, women also would give a box of heart-shaped chocolate as a gift in return. But plenty of girls in China, even if you gave them expensive necklaces, they still will be angry at you because you did not give them a red rose. These girls also would never send chocolate to boys in return.
In China, Valentine’s day is the day that men pay much more money to court women. Chinese Valentine’s Day care more about the cost of presents instead of true feelings of this festival. After packaging businesses, a lot of people to mix love with money. Men also would buy expensive gifts in order to save face. This phenomenon makes Valentine’s Day become a burden to people. This is also a waste. Nowadays, I feel very sad because of the commercialization of Valentine’s Day. I really wish Valentine’s Day will be less of commercial color someday.
Also, Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
