Getting a Monday off is always a great way to start a week. There is more time to relax and try new things. This Monday I went to a ramen place right by my dorm. I have always heard about it from friends and family, but never found the time to actually go there. The restaurant is called Jin Ramen and it is located on 125th street & Broadway. It was one of the most amazing ramen places I’ve ever been to. First I ordered Japanese Peach Soda. It really tasted like peach! Then I had pork buns. Pork buns are thin slices of pork with lettuce and sliced scallions. They are placed on a warm bun with sauce on it. These pork buns literally melted in my mouth and were so easy to cut. Finally I had Green Coconut Thai Curry Ramen. This dish had chicken broth, chicken, bean sprouts, zucchini, yellow squash, scallions, sesame seeds, egg, and curly ramen noodles in it. I honestly never tasted anything so good in my life! I also found out that Jin Ramen has a Michelin Star, which is a company that publishes a book every year gives awards of excellence to a select few hotels and restaurants. Getting just one Michelin Star is an accomplishment on its own. The loss or gain of a star can effect the success of the restaurant dramatically. I recommend this restaurant to anybody who loves ramen or want to try ramen fro the first time. They very much deserve their Michelin Star!
