If you attend NYIT in Manhattan, it is likely that you have seen the breakfast food cart outside of the school on 60th street every single day. I know some people do not want to get food from a cart because they feel it is not as clean or the food is not made with as much care, but I assure you this is not the case.
The breakfast cart on 60th is owned and operated by a good friend of mine named Moe Tharwat, who is honestly one of the best people that I have come to know. Moe is out there every morning at 5am and continues to stand out there and make everyone who stops in either a quality cup of coffee of a quality breakfast sandwich basically until he runs out of stuff. He keeps his cart clean and has fresh ingredients every day.
I may just be writing this because it is morning time and I haven’t had my bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant from Moe’s cart but I do, genuinely, think that his food cart is the best place to get breakfast while at NYIT. If you’re anything like me, you know it is brutal to sit through a class without having eaten, but food in the city is so expensive. Take Melissa’s for example, the deli on broadway next to NYIT. It is a nice place and you may be more comfortable going there because it is a store instead of a cart but I don’t know who in their right mind would buy a breakfast sandwich for $
8 for a sandwich and coffee and not feel like they just overpaid. Moe charges $5 for an equally good sandwich and coffee, I don’t think you could beat that price anywhere near columbus circle.
So next time you get to school and you haven’t eaten or just need coffee, stop by Moe’s breakfast cart. I promise you will not be disappointed.
