So this year I’m the lead representative for NYIT’s biggest event of the year, Relay For Life!
Relay for Life is an overnight event that celebrates and remembers all of our loved ones that have been affected by cancer. Not only the fighters and the survivors, but the supporters, and anyone who has been affected. We Relay for them and to help spread awareness about this awful disease. Unfortunately, spreading awareness won’t find a cure. That’s why we fund-raise as much as we can, and as early as we can, so that less and less people hear the words “you have cancer…”
That’s why I urge you to sigh up and join a team so that we can make a cancer free world a reality sooner, because every dollar helps and every person with us in this mission makes it that much more possible.
The event is going to have A LOT going on. We have hours of games, activities, contests, raffles, dance battles, a DJ & live band, tons of food and snacks, inflatables… All things to keep the energy going from 6pm-6am!
The event is going to be held at NYIT Old Westbury on Friay, April 29th. We have free shuttle buses transporting us from Manhattan to OW. To be able to go, you can sign up for free and become a part of the Student Government Association’s Team here! After that, sign up for the bus in the upstairs of the metro cafe in the Student Activities Building.
I’m SO excited for this night, not only is it going to be the most fun I’ve had for a while, but we’ll be raising money for one of the best organizations ever, the American Cancer Society.
I’m urging every one of you to go, it’s free and it’ll be a ton of fun! If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask me!
