What will it be the blue pill or the red pill? And yes the blue pill, Lynda.com is owned and operated by guru business networking platform, Linkedin. The video learning service was purchased for a whopping 1.5 billion dollars– last year, April. Crossing paths with with Lynda.com was due to a recent purchase, of a Wacom tablet for my PhotoShop and Illustrator creations; their line of the Intuos tablets vary and have a sleek variety to choose from. Considering this is my first pen tablet, researching the best fit for an individual like myself, whom is well versed in both of the adobe software programs, was very necessary to say the least.
After making my decision, I went ahead and purchased the Intous Art Black Medium sized tablet, and what a delight it has been. Once unraveling the package, you come to find out, this tablet comes with a 10-day trial for Lynda.com. Never hearing about this online training library; I Googled it, signed up for the trial and it was the beginning to a whole lot of awesome. Prior to Lynda.com, I was a huge advocate of Youtube’s database of interactive videos, when learning a new skill or looking for inspiration.
Best advice I can personally deliver for those who are deciding, if they should continue on this path of the learning continuum with Lynda.com after the trial, do it! If you are an entrepreneur, developer, business owner, creative, or someone who is eager to learn and expand there skill set, Lynda is for you. If you dare to try her premium services, Lynda will rock your world for $30/month–after you fill her up with all those demanding search inquiries during her 10 day trial; don’t fight it, just let it happen…
College students, Lynda.com is your best friend, for she is the almighty in teaching; while you are sat at home in your pj’s, you can be catching up on some marketing material or learning how to write in Laravel– for you PHP ninjas. I am currently enrolled in college and haven’t been able to find a reason to break up with Lynda. Being that my major is Advertising, there’s a plethora of content to learn from on the web, but the hurdle is finding the precise content needed–a needle in a hay stack, is the saying.
Let’s not totally discredit Youtube, I mean really, where else can you find such databases of funny pranks and cute puppy videos? It all goes down to what your personal needs are, either way knowing that both exist will give you options to consider. I must say, Linkedin- the world’s largest professional network, really knows how stay true to the millions of professionals that they house on their platform, from all around the globe. Thank You.
