In case you’ve never heard of them, Pentatonix, PTX for short, is an A Capella singing group. The group consisting of five members resorted to covering songs by other artists and singing them A Capella. Previously they released albums full of cover songs and maybe one or two original songs. Those albums never appealed to me because I really dislike cover bands. And here’s a tip for cover bands and cover bands who are on the rise and plan on be remotely successful, don’t ever cover Beyoncé. Ever. It can’t be topped. Just don’t do it. This time around, Pentatonix surprisingly has released an album with all original songs! At first, I was unsure about it because listening to artists sing A Capella (unless you’re Beyoncé) doesn’t really do much for me. But this song changed my mind completely. The song is a perfect pop song and I can only imagine how amazing it would sound like if it weren’t A Capella. The self-titled album is full of surprises and the three lead singers can sing their butts off. Especially Mitch Grassi, his range and technique is honestly out of this world. Him and Scott Hoying, who is also vocally superior, really sound fantastic together. Check out their first and second singles off of the album.
