A little background about the Levain Bakery: The bakery was founded in 1994 by two friends Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes. At that time, Connie was working in banking and Pam in fashion. Loving good food, they have quickly discussed to create the best chocolate chip cookie in the world. In just a few years Levain Bakery has become an institution for NYC citizen and tourists too. The two women have two stores in New York City and one oppened this summer in the Hamptons Wainscott village.
Why you MUST taste cookies from Levain Bakery? Just because they are goood!! Crispy on the outside and terribly soft and melting inside, They come in different flavors: oatmeal, walnuts, raisins, peanut butter, white chocolate or black … Cookies cost 4$, but for their size and their quality they worth it!
The advantage with the Upper West Side store is that you are close to Central Park. Indeed, you can go and enjoy your cookie and walk in the park (pay attention that the squirrels don’t steal your treasure).
The primary address is in the Upper West Side but it is always crowded.If you do not want to wait too , prefer the Harlem store .
