The Whitney Museum is in the Meatpacking at the end of the hight line. We can see in the amazing Renzo Piano ‘s building a permanent exhibition and a temporary one of the 20’s american art.
I went today with a friend ! I study fines arts, art deals and communication so it’s important for me to visit all the museums and galeries of New York. This museum is rather interesting because it’s only contemporary and modern american art.
Renzo Piano is an important and recognized architect. To him we owe the Centre Pompidou in Paris. When we are on one of the terraces, we can see the visitors going in and going out of the building. That gives a social aspect to this place. And obviously there is a wonderful view !!
For me, that was not the best museum i visited in my life but i think it’s place to visit mostly for the architecture. So if you have time on Sunday, you can go !!!
