Precious and Rare?
“In September 1990, SIA was founded by 13 lovely ladies who were bounded to create the goals and make the roles for the lovely latin ladies who will take control of the Sigma (what) Iota (what) and the Alpha, the Sigma (what) Iota (what) and the Alpha EEEIIIAAA!”
This chant is being rung throughout Washington D.C. this weekend for a very precious and rare occassion. This weekend is the Founders Convention for the Lovely Latin Ladies of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha Incorporada (Sisterhood of Sigma Iota Alpha Incorporated), my sorority that I pledged. Founders is a weekend that all sisters from around the nation come together in one place to celebrate another year of our lovely organization being alive and well.
We are precious and rare because SIA is the youngest and the fastest growing sorority in the United States and I am honored to be called an Hermana of this organization.
NYIT Manhattan first witnessed the fuego of SIA when myself and my three line sisters brought it onto campus as a recognized sorority in April of this year. That means we are founding sisters of this campus and, if you know greek life, that’s an amazing honor to hold. And if you’re not familiar, well it’s a pretty big deal nation-wide.
We can’t wait for our Hermandad to mark 25 years in the game and WE ARE SO EXCITED! September 29th!
