I am French. Like all french people I love french bakeries.
Yes, it is possible to find good French bread in New York !
And besides Americans love it. Baguettes, whole weat breads but also typical European pastries can be enjoyed in the Big Apple, for French food lovers !
Here is my two favorites French Bakery in New York:
- ‘Le Pain d’Avignon’ is a French bakery located in Manhattan (Lower east side & Plaza food court). It offers one of the best baguettes in New York , as well as breads , brioche … The pastries are also for sale ( croissants, pain au chocolate , eclairs, macarons … ) . The bread is consistently excellent and very reasonably priced. One of the best addresses in Town.
Adress : 120 Essex Street, 10002-32 New York, New York
- “Maison Kayser” is a famous french bakery created by Eric Kayser who is a baker and a food writter. There are 80 locations of this bakery all over the world and locations throughout Manhattan. The bakery is selling a full bread and pastry list as well as a menu of French classics: tartines, quiches, salads, soups, sandwiches, and a large number of breakfast offerings. The bakery is offering to customers new breads made in the oven every two hours. You have to go there. you will not be disappointed!
