This past weekend I went to Philadelphia to spend time with friends and family and run the Color Run 5K. The run was at 7:30 AM Saturday…terrible time, who decided that? There were over 6,000 people running that day and even though we were all tired, when the paint started flying, everyone was wide awake! Although I may look miserable in this picture, I was really just freezing and exhausted.
The rest of the weekend was spent exploring different parts of the city. Most of our time was spent in the various gift and thrift shops which lined every street in Philly. It was really interesting walking around through the city, there are a lot of small areas that are very populated and full of restaurants and shops but in-between these areas are very large sections of the city with low-income housing, and the slums. Philadelphia is also full of places to enjoy the natural beauty of Pennsylvania. We explored water falls and hiked through nature trails. Philadelphia was a lot of fun and since my sister is moving there fairly soon, I better get used to it. Driving in Philadelphia may be worse than driving in NYC!
