Maybe it is a complete cliché to feel inspired after the Bruce Jenner interview, but I do not know how anybody could not feel inspired after. Anybody can find the light at the end of the tunnel, even at 65 years old.
Bruce Jenner has been the subject of the tabloids for months now since pictures popped up of his image changing and somewhat different behavior then usual. However, he kept a low profile and avoided the questions and ridicule for as long as he could. Finally, news broke that he was going to be doing a big one on one interview with Diane Sawyer, and the big questions would finally be asked.
The interview starts full throttle, with the first scene showing Bruce and his big reveal. From there on, we learn about Bruce’s childhood all the way to his life today. Bruce always knew from a young age he was in the wrong body, and fought it for many years. When he was young he started dressing in women’s clothing on the down low, and he would continue to do so his entire life.
Bruce would reveal his feelings to all 3 wives, and ultimately as much as they still loved them, it would strain all of their relationships. Gradually the past few years, Bruce would reach a crossroads where he did not want to die before he was able to be his true self. His biggest hurtle was telling all his children, because he did not want to ruin their relationships. Luckily, all his children were there for him and stood behind him.
What I found so great about the interview was that this is really new concept for a lot of people, and it takes a well-known celebrity that is adored to really open people’s minds and hearts. The interview also does a really good job at differentiating things like gender, sexual orientation, transgender, and many other ideas and concepts.
