Have you always wanted to paint or do something creative? Do you like to drink? I have good news! This has all been combined into an awesome outing in which you can do both!
Painting Lounge is your destination. With help from an instructor, you are taught painting techniques with simple instructions by a teacher in order to create a beautiful painting. Best part? Byob and Groupon!
Painting Lounge has 3 locations in Midtown, Chelsea, and Brooklyn. Chelsea’s location has acquired a liquor license that enables you to indulge in alcoholic beverages, so choose that one. All you have to do is schedule an appointment ahead of time, because the openings fill up quickly. I also suggest you try to go on weekday, as weekend openings are always filled.
My experience with Painting Lounge has been very positive. The instructor was very kind and made sure you felt welcome. As you enter you are asked to hang your stuff in a cubby and grab a smock. They had plastic cups and wine bottle openers on the ready. As I started painting I felt like Bob Ross, minus the epic hair unfortunately. The instructor was very eloquent and easy to understand. By the end of the 2 hour paint session and a few wine glasses later, I was admittedly getting a little sloppy with my painting, but it was great and relaxing. This is a great date idea, and my date, Drake, loved it. I did find it amusing as most of the guests that attended were mostly large groups of women eating wine and cheese while talking about their boy problems. So, go here too if you’re into that or go with your friends!
Protip: They offer a Groupon deal that’s cheaper than their regular rate.
