I’ve always been creative with ideas as well as with a paper and pen. I would doodle in class and draw amateur houses, animals, buildings, but I never really put my 100% into it. I either messed it up or left it unfinished.
Right before winter break, I was bored to death and decided to ask one of my friends for a huge sheet of paper. She was an architecture student so I knew she had some. I began searching for what I wanted to draw. It had to look easy, but at the same time I wanted it to have detail. I found a picture of an elephant.
The elephant was sketched out and filled in with pencil. I didn’t need anything else except a pencil and a sheet. Very Simple.
I began to draw the elephant not knowing how it was going to come out. The first part I drew was the end of the elephant. I didn’t know if I was drawing it to scale, but I kept going. Then I began filling in the elephant with a light shade. I followed the drawing on the internet and shaded all the places that were darker on the screen.
When I was done, I can honestly say I fell in love. I pinned it on my wall and put it all over my social media. I was so worried that it was going to get damaged or smudged since it had no protection. I showed it to my mom and she decided that a frame was necessary. We went to a local Walmart and I bought a simple frame.
I have it hung up in my room and I look at it every day. I’ve drawn other things, but the elephant is by far my favorite piece. It looks natural, realistic and purely amazing.
