Anyone that has read my posts before already knows my love and affection for craft beer. I am thrilled to say that after living in the city for a little over five months I have found my paradise in Chelsea. It is a craft beer enthusiast’s heaven mixed with games and therefore memories, of my childhood, it is Barcade. This is a different kind of bar. The bar for everyone. Except maybe Bud Light drinkers. My roommates and I went out last week and heard Barcade was filled with old style arcade games and great drinks. Upon arrival I was immediately impressed with there taps, then even more impressed that they do not sell any domestic beers (my friends were not as excited as I was).
After getting a round of beers, two Bell’s two hearted, one cranberry cider, and one Other Half Brewing Co. 1st Anniversary IPA, we headed to the games. We threw away our quarters to games such as Ms. Pac Mac, Galaga, Space Invaders, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men and more. Our competitive attitude kept us playing for longer than expected and spending more than we wanted. It was the perfect night out to forget about our responsibilities like piles of school work.
Although we may have spent more than we planned, we were more entertained than we would have been at our usual bar spots, which is why Barcade is now our number one choice for a Friday night out. I suggest stopping by one of the locations in the city whenever you’re stuck for an idea of where to go. Great drinks and great games, the perfect combination for a paradise in the city.
