So I was hoping to give you guys some results this week but the winter has been kicking my butt !
I have been sick for almost 4 days now, I am just now getting over a cold, and I have other health issues that is ruining my appetite. I am forcing myself to eat and drinking my protein shakes here and there but I feel like my weight is just all over the place. Whenever I get sick I lose a lot of weight because I just eat soup and small portions so I don’t upset my stomach. This time around, I am taking meds but also eating a lot more than usual to keep my intake consistent.
All week last week, I made sure I ate at least 5 meals a days plus at least one protein shake and a good workout. Over the weekend I took a break from my protein shakes and workouts and just ate like crazy. I did a good cardio workout though running up a snow covered hill to get my mom eggs from the supermarket!
For those who are struggling to gain weight, it is even more of a struggle to do so when you’re sick. Really try to double your intake so you don’t lose the body mass you worked so hard to gain. Try eating a lot of protein and make as much tea as possible. When taking medication, eat before and after you take it, this will also help keep you from feeling nauseous. And definitely do not forget to drink a protein shake after your workout if you find the energy to workout. Make sure to give yourself a rest day where you do nothing but eat. I haven’t seen any negative changes in my body but I am definitely not taking any chances.
