Hi all ! So coming back from last week’s post, I have seen some results in my body. I have yet to weigh myself but my family and friends have noticed a bit of a change. I am super happy and this week I am sharing some of the exercises I do, Instagram inspirations I use, and food I eat on a daily basis.
Researching a lot about gaining weight and muscle mass, I learned that food consumption will grow naturally as I eat more than usual. I have honestly felt a huge shift in the way I eat and I don’t count calories at all. I really just force myself to finish everything that is on my plate. My good friend is a body builder and he told me to gain weight, you should eat even if you are full. Now I noticed that when I eat, I don’t even notice that I finished the entire meal and even want seconds! I wish I could give you guys my weight this week, I am planning on buying a scale so I can monitor my weight every now and then. To give you an idea, my last doctor’s appointment was a month ago and I weighed at 90lbs… I know don’t say it =/. I was actually relieved at that number being that I was sick for a while and dropped down to 87lbs (not normal for my age and height AT ALL). I didn’t work out for weeks and just ate. I decided I needed to regulate my weight and start a workout/meal regime I can follow without a lot of commitment being that I am a working college student with little to no time for the gym. I started a diet plan in my notebook, telling myself I will write down what I eat everyday and its calories. However, that took too much time. Now I know exactly how much I need to eat and I add on to that with a protein shake. I don’t count calories I just eat like a monster! I also use weights I have at home to do workouts such as squats, curls, calf raises, etc. and I drink a protein shake right after (this is a good idea also to prevent me from being sore in the morning).
On Instagram, I follow a lot of workout pages and whatnot, however I have my favorites.
The first page @viktoriaevaz is a Swedish athlete who I have spoke with personally about workouts and eating habits. I connected with her because she herself was very skinny and with a healthy diet and weight lifting she gained the weight and muscle she wanted.
@katyaelisehenry has the body I want! She too had lost a lot of weight, more than she wanted. But with dedication she soon became the advocate for several protein powder companies and workout pages. Her body is amazing and she is definitely one of my inspirations!
These are my babies though, I use both for squat workouts and arm workouts. I use the plates for ab workouts. The yellow is a 10lb weight while the two in the back are each 3lbs
Some misc. items I use for my daily workouts also are a chair and floor mat. Almost every exercise I do is 3 sets of 15. I started off doing 3 sets of 10 until I felt too comfortable. I read that you must change up your workout to trick your muscles into growing like you want them to.
