This past Summer, I learned about Shakespeare In The Park, an annual tradition in Central Park’s Delacorte Theater. Every summer between June and August, two Shakespeare plays are put on at the theater for audiences to watch for free. Some of the actors that have performed in Shakespeare In The Park in past years include: Amy Adams, Anne Hathaway Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken, Denzel Washington, and Al Pacino.
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? The biggest issue, of course, is getting tickets. You can either sign up for an online lottery for a chance to win tickets, but the best way to get them is to get to the theater on the morning of the show. At 12 PM every day there’s a show, tickets are given to people who stand on line outside the theater. You have to show up quite early to get tickets, because the demand is so high. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go this year, but I’ll definitely try my best to go next summer.
Just remember: if you’re going to try and get on the line, get there early. Also, bring a chair, cause you’ll be standing in line for a while. If you’d like to learn more about the show, and tips on how to get your tickets, you can watch this.
