There is some sort of mythical ideology that on January 1st of every year you can make a promise to yourself to change something about yourself.
It can be something difficult or easy, it varies. Examples are but most definitely not limited to quitting smoking, losing weight, getting a new job, or even going back to school.
We call this the New Years Resolution…
Do you really have to wait that long? You can’t do any of the above examples at any point throughout the 364 other days of the year?
Is it the idea that there is a definitive start of a year that gives you the idea that it’ll be easier?
Is it because you know there are tons of others that will have the same mindset as you?
I just dont get it people…you want to change something, do it. You want to be better, be it. It is a mindset and not a date in time that seemingly is inevitable and people will continue to ask the infamous questions, “what’s your resolution?”
I know what I my answer is…”to not wait for a resolution but to be one.”
