I recently posted an article about a young man by the name of Leon Ford. To give you guys a more depth understanding of the action taken place to fight for the justice of Leon, a walk is being held on May 3rd, 2014 in Brooklyn, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia, Houston and last but not least, Ford’s hometown Pittsburgh. In recognition of the five times Leon was shot, each walk will be approximately 5 miles from the starting location.
Ultimately Leon’s family and P.A.U.S.E network, a team whom I’m affiliated with are striving to shed light and awareness on this issue. There are hundreds of young men who have experienced what Leon has gone and still is going through but their stories are never heard. Not only are their stories never heard but when they are, it is only for a moment. After the moment is up their stories are swept under the rug and never to be heard of again. I including many others are fed up with circumstances such as Leons occurring and little to no action being taken to fight against the justice system.
All in all I must say support from everyone is needed. This must not be deemed as a racial issue, but an issue that effects all human beings in all shapes, colors and sizes. When calling for a fight for justice, it is a call for everyone who genuinely cares about human rights such racial justice, minority rights, civil rights amongst several others, to take a stand. Individuals must comprehend that issues such as these are on a much larger scale than just racial. Together I believe we can conquer and change the world not only for ourselves but for those to come. It will not happen over night but we must start some where. Are you willing to fight for the cause? Join us on May 3rd.
