We’ll the internets a buzz! and disappointed this week in the news of fashion’s most coveted and respected magazine in what most say #the world, decision to feature ” KimYe” on the upcoming April issue . Sadly , Vogue magazine (part of the acclaimed Conde Nast brand ) seems to be falling at the seams in the social media realm . For those of you who haven’t
cared heard Vogue’s April 2014 will cover Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Many have voiced their extreme outrage over editor in chief Anna Wintour’s decision to feature the couple on the cover of the magazine . On the magazines facebook page and twitter , social media users are planning to #boycottvogue and cancel their current subscriptions! The BIG UPROAR is all due to many peoples thoughts that the couple , and the kardashian herself do not deserve to be on the prestigious “fashion bible” that is Vogue.
The cover is creating a lot of buzz because Vogue consumers do feel that the magazine has been disloyal to their readers by choosing to feature the reality star and her famous fiancé. Readers feel that their are more deserving celebrities that should represent the vogue brand and that Kim Kardashian was a poor choice for the standards Vogue has set in fashion throughout the world .
Could their have been more suitable people for this months Cover ? Or does Kim Kardashian simply not deserve a place on the cover of this highly renowned magazine . Anna Wintour in the past has publicly announced her dislike for the reality star , so what changed her mind that would allow the magazine to lose it legitimacy amongst its most loyal readers?
Parodies of the Cover are churning as the upset continues and people are wondering if there is any creditability in the word Vogue anymore.
Seeing that Vogue is straying away from its supermodel cover girls and turning its eye on celebrities , it is interesting the fashionista taste they have replaced it with. I. e Lena Denhum ( HBO Girls) , Rihanna, Beyoncé , Sandra Bullock but surprising that many well known actress and celebrities have not ever had a vogue cover I.e Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey , Tyra banks, Victoria Beckham , Heidi Klum
So do you think the backlash is justified ? Does should kim be left alone or should vogue reconsider their direction?
