I was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes in 2004, when I was just nine years old. After I was experiencing many of the usual symptoms that are related to diabetes such as frequent urination, unquenchable thirst, and blurred vision, it was my mother’s decision to bring me to the doctor that would eventually change my life. An endocrinologist told me I had Juvenile Diabetes, which was a term I was completely unfamiliar with at the time. I then learned that this meant my pancreas no longer could produce a hormone called insulin, that regulates my blood-glucose levels. As daunting of a task as this was at the time, I was forced to learn to cope with an entirely changed lifestyle. Monitoring the amount of sugar and carbohydrates in all that I eat/drink was difficult to become accustomed to, which became the most prominent variable of my health. But, the peak of my problems as a diabetic did not come until the end of 2013. I was experiencing extremely high blood-glucose levels on a regular daily basis that were unexplainable from October of 2013 until January 2014. Incredibly, this overwhelming complication is now officially in the past as a result of herbal supplements.
In January, while I was on my plane flight returning from a family vacation to Walt Disney World, a man sat next to me who noticed I had a glucometer (a testing kit that is used to check a blood-sugar level by pricking a finger), and began to tell me he is also a diabetic. This man was very knowledgable in biology and herbal supplements; he was talking about a countless number of medications that I’ve never even heard of! He asked how I have been feeling, and I was completely honest when I told him that I was not feeling well most of the time because of having high blood-sugar. At this point, I opened my journal and he wrote a list of supplements for me to try to help control my spiking blood-sugar rates.
The first two that I tried are capsules of Triple Cod Liver Oil, and L-Arginine from GNC. I was amazed that within a day I started to see a difference in the ability to use my insulin injections and diet to successfully manipulate my blood-sugar. Now that I’m approaching the two-month mark of taking these medications, I am positive that these suggestions from the man on my plane flight have made a serious impact on my health.
When I regularly wasn’t feeling well, having a blood-sugar content of 250 would be a generally good reading for me and I had a blood-sugar average around 360. Now that I’m feeling even better than I have in years, I average around a 150 blood-sugar level. I previously never believed that herbal supplements were truly effective, but after the improvements that I’ve experienced in just two months, I am completely convinced that taking the necessary natural supplements can be life changing.
