In 2007, the first movie of 300 came to the big screen with a bang. The movie grossed over $480 million in the opening weeks, which is the 24th largest in box office history at that time.
Although 300: Rise of an Empire is considered to be the prequel to 300, the movie takes place before, during, and after the events of the first film. The basic plot is about the second Persian invasion into Greece (480-479BC). The film also shows the history of the Xerxes and will explain how he became “the God King” If you have not seen the trailer for it yet, I have provided it below.
300: Rise of an Empire hits theaters next Friday (March 7, 2014). I am really looking forward to this movie coming out. The first film had some great gory action scenes which, I’m sure all guys enjoy. As for the cinematography, I thought the movie had great lighting. For the most part, each scene had a grayish tint to it that only enhanced the emotions the 300 Spartans were going through. The music in the fighting scenes brought you closer to the battles. The bloodshed was a bit over the top but, I think a lot of movies are pushing towards that because it adds to the scenes. What I mean by that is you really focus in the bloodshed more than you would if there wasn’t as much gore.
Are any of you looking forward to seeing 300: Rise of an Empire?
