I knew this guy has an amazing voice. Nevertheless, I was not ready at all to see something like that.
Asaf Avidan played at the Irving Plaza last Friday. This spot is very nice : a kind of old theater as we can imagine discovering in New York. The theater it self carries the weight of legendary musician as Bob Dylan. We wait during a hour before to see Asaf Avidan coming on stage.
Born in 1980, Asaf Avidan is an Israelian musican and singer who released four albums:
– The Reckoning in 2008
– Poor Boy / Lucky Man in 2009
– Through the Gale in 2010
– Different Pulse in 2012
He knew his first big and international success with the song “One Day / Reckoning Song” remixed by Wankelmut.
One Day / Reckoning Song – not remixed
His voice is really surprising (very hoarse but also high-pitched) and he takes his public into his poetry and his specific world. During almost 2 hours I was totally captivated by his voice and his lyrics. He is also a very good musician, alone on stage but using a lot of different instrument at the same time, which give an unique aspect to his song.
My favorite was the song “ Different Pulse “ (sorry I could not take video during the show):
Since 2010, Asaf Avidan is in tour and he’s travelling in almost each countries so if you have a chance to see him : do not hesitate !
Enjoy the video, his voice is amazing, isn’t it ?
