This past week, I learned a valuable lesson of what really matters in life. I understand that this may be different for everyone else but don’t wait till something big happens for you to open your eyes. Everyday of our lives we go out and strive to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves , that is wonderful but how much of that takes up our lives should be balanced out. Why should school and work take so much over our lives that we don’t see whats happening around us. I understand the importance of an education and the importance of making money to survive but whats the point of it all if you don’t focus on the people that actually matter.
I had my wakeup call after discovering a very unfortunate event involving a close family friend. Every single day we are out and about working, trying to be on top of the game so we can get the material things we don’t need. It’s true! We not only work to survive but many of us tire ourselves out working hard to have that new pair of shoes, new phone etc. Don’t get me wrong, I want to have a successful career and work in a field that I am genuinely interested but at the end of the day I don’t want it to rule my life so much that I forget about those who actually matter. The education system itself has become a joke. The professional world is filled with bitter/hateful people and sadly we spend thousands on our education learning how to be submissive to those people. The more your sacrifice your personal life the more successful you become. It’s a weird idea but somehow its become acceptable. There are so many instances when people forget that life happens…wait they don’t forget, they just don’t give a crap and then you’re instantly reminded how you are easily replaceable.
I cannot sit down and predict my entire future based on my new discovery of how life really is but what I do know is that I don’t want to sit back and wait for life to pass by. Go and talk to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, go out with your family or even stay home and watch a movie together because the worst kind of “what ifs” you can have are the ones involving your loved ones. The biggest reality of life is that we have 9 months to prepare for a new life but death only needs a moment.
To sort of change the topic, here is a video I found on YouTube. I was absolutely amazed by it and think you might enjoy it too!

I wanted to write a brief blog about this image I found. I was wasting my Sunday evening away on iwastesomuchtime.com and found this interesting image. It has listed many of the commonly asked job interview questions and how they should be answer. Since most of us will be looking for Summer jobs or Fall internships. I thought it would be relevant to share this information.
This year I have setup a good number of video shoots to help expand my video knowledge and portfolio. Of course nobody schedule is going to relate to yours but sometimes I feel like they don’t understand my job. Besides recording the shoot, I have to make sure all the equipment is present, proper lighting and tape formats. All the artist or actor has to do is show up ready to do what they do. When done with the shoot, the job is never done. Post production is the most important part of the process. These are the long hours at the computer editing the video. Sometimes during post production, you realize you missed something during the shoot, and you can either call another shoot to get what you want, or try and work around it the best to your abilities. From the time of the first shoot to the final edit, this process can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. This is why I have to space out all my shoots the way I do. Not because I don’t want to do a shoot. I give all my clients the same respect and dedicated effort to all their projects. What I honestly need is my own studio to work from.
Hi All ,
Some of us like me we are going to be graduated in June .Honestlly I can’t wait to there. I am not ashamed to said it I am so tired of school!!!
I want balance in my life it’s really hard for some of us who are doing an internship tree days per week too because the kind of works that you needs do it is really different between class and work . Personally I prefer the day of internship because we work harder and most longer but at the end of the day you are done ! When you are at school you always have some homework or some researches to do and when you are relaxing watching a movie or what ever you knew that you shouldn’t do the fun stuff to focus on the school stuff….
The worst part is that in France we start school at three and a school day School day is to 8 am To 5 pm. More you growing up and more your day are longer before I came to NYIT I was during an internship during the day and I had class at night
Anyway I did my time 3 to 25 years old and I am more than ready to go to work for real if your are in the same case that me I all wish you luck for our final exams. Two more month and we will celebrate our new Freedom =)
