A book that was borrowed by a friend back at home. This book has been my company througout the week while I’m on my train ride to campus. Part of my love for linguistics , I’ve always wanted to learn Italian besides German and Dutch. I currently am able to speaj French, Tamil and Cantonese and always thought that Italian was quite similiar French I was quite wrong there. The book wasnt exactly about the language in general but it sure did make me want to go to Rome someday. Vespa’s , bakery’s and museums something to look forward to when there’s a chance for me to there. If you’re into feel good stories and travel as well as photography this is one them books with happy endings and yeah a little bit of drama too

For Spring Break I decided to jetset to Rome to visit one of my best friends who is lucky enough to be studying abroad there. It was an amazing vacation!! The food was incredibly delicious, the sites were beautiful, and the night light was fun. One of my favorite things to do on vacation (really just in general) is to shop. I love to take home souvenirs and pieces that are unique and are not available in the States.
So of course when I went Rome I had to bring back a little bit of Rome with me! The original plan was to go shopping at The Mall which are designer outlets located between Rome and Florence (everything is up to 70% off there so I recommend you go if given the chance!!), unfortunately it was too difficult to get there. So we did some local shopping at small markets and souvenir shops. I snagged some great buys, a very trendy mixed American/British flag scarf, VERY interesting shaped pasta, and absinth. No exactly the shopping trip I was preparing for but definitely well worth it!
At first I was worried about the prices because of the conversion to the Euro, but everything is priced relatively cheap if you are with a Roman that knows where to shop. Always ask where the locals shop, the tourist places are usually not interesting and very expensive. I am determined to make another trip out to Florence in the future to get to The Mall, but for now if anyone has been there before? Please let me know how it is! I am interested in knowing if it is worth the trip.
Hope everyone enjoyed the break as much as I did!!
