The Red Sox First basemen David Ortiz in now playing in his third World Series. He has always dominated in the post season, but this year in particular he has been able to do something amazing. Coming into last night’s Game 5, Ortiz was at a .727 batting average through the first four games against Cardinals.
In game five he came up huge with a first inning RBI double to put the first point on the board. In addition, in the fourth he came out swinging with a lead off single. This lead off single in the fourth inning tied David “Big Papi” Ortiz with Billy Hatcher for most consecutive on bases reached in the history of World Series baseball.
At the current juncture he has not received a strikeout, and this has not happen since game two of the ALCS. Given his performance thus far we can expect for Big Papi to have a difficult time getting any pitches that make sense to him for the rest of the series. I would not be surprised if we see the Cardinals begin to pitch around the big fella in order to save a few runs possibly.
Since the storm two days ago, many places were still recovering from the thick snow and power outage. As I currently reside in Keyport , New Jersey we were just about as affected as well but with thick amount of snow and most shovelling to do as snow cevered the driveway , cars were not able to start and it was getting colder by the hour as the snow melts away. But as the morning came by we all had a positive mode “let’s just go out for some fresh air , it’s been quite a morning cleaning shovelling the snow” says my family host here. There we were cruising in asuburban with 7 of us and a small girl towards the Twin Light Towers one of New Jersey’s State Historic Site.
Since my trip here , I’ve not been to any historical sites in the USA and this was my first. We were crusing along Sandy Hook and it was sad to see that the ruins of the hurricane still remained as many houses and boats were still under construction. It was a sight many would wonder as the town looked so dead and quiet. The Twin Lights Towers hoewever looked as magnificent and amazing.A brief history about it , it is situated 200ft above sea level atopthe Navesink Highlands. This tower has been on these treacherous water along the coastal line since the year 1828 and still gleamed with strength an beauty as the years has passed. Apparently these lights were known as the “Twin Light Highlands” who use them beacons to navigate as used to be the primary seacost light for the New York Harbour as well as the brightest light in Northern America. For generations it has served many seafarers. Many were saved by the sweeps of this light.
This unique light beams are easy to distinguish as at night the beacon flashes and the other fixed providing a rare perspective. This site is worth a trip on a bright sunny day where it isn’t too cold I would say but all in all it was worth a trip and when you are there don’t forget to take a trip up the spiral staircase to the top of the Tower the view is breathtaking! And you would figure out why and how the name Sandy Hook came about as you observe from the top of this Tower
I’ve never been a huge fan of history. Well I can’t say that really. I am a huge fan of learning and reading about history, but when it comes to film, I like my history far from it. I’ve never seen how someone could watch Saving Private Ryan and truly enjoy it. Sure you feel something cathartic and you enjoy learning about the journey of the characters but how could you let a movie that glorifies war be your favorite movie? I’d say a movie like Schindler’s List can barely hold a candle to 2001: A Space Odyssey. I guess I’ve always just been more imaginative. I desire a lot more than a cheap imitation of history. Don’t even get me started on movies that use September 11th as plot devices (Remember Me, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close) because I don’t know what could be more disrespectful than using a tragedy as a way to fill seats. With all that being said I recently thought it would be awesome to have a whole movie about a real event but completely change the end . I guess that’s sort of like what Ingolorious Basterds did. I think that idea can be really effective and inadvertently hilarious. Well there’s a new movie coming out, based on a book of the same name, that takes a completely real historical figure, Abraham Lincoln, and makes him do something totally outrageous, kill vampires in the name of vengeance for his mother’s death. I can’t think of an idea I’d be more interested in. While this movie will be going up against tons of summer blockbusters with the same, redundant superheroes, I’m sure this movie will get looked over completely. That’s exactly how I like my movies.

I watched, I was drawing. At the end of the years, I imitated the teachers. the class laughed and I was happy. All I knew to do was play. ”
If to date only 2 previous French Female stars Simone Signoret for “Room at the Top” and Marillon Cotillard for “La Vie En Rose” have won the prestigious award in the past, no male French actor has ever won the Best Actor award. Dujardin may indeed make history tonight as France holds it’s breath …
