A person’s life is similar to a long road. This road is composed by different events. Some can be happy like a wedding, extraordinary like a birth, tragic like a death or some can improve your image like a job promotion. Most of the time this kind of important events become a turning point in your life.
In my opinion, one of the major event in my life was my move to Dublin. I was only seventeen years old when I decided to do to Ireland to finish my secondary school. I decided to leave France for an english-speaking country because being bilingual was essential. I went to the French school for my studies but I was living in an Irish family to improve my english.
When I arrived to the school most of the student was only her for a year. They all decided to live the same experience as me so it was easier to understand each other. Directly after school I had to come back home to do my homework and having a speaking time with my family.
At first, going back to home was a stressful moment. During the first few weeks my english was very bad. I couldn’t understand what they said or ask to me: “Do you want to have a desert” I was answering: “Yes, please” and I was showing my empty glass of water. Everyone was laughing at me. During few days I was sham to speak and I was anxious to never improve.
Then, I realized the solution. If I wanted to solve this problem I had to watch everyday an american movie and read ten pages of an english book. I did this listening and reading exercises with rigor. Few weeks later my improve was significant. I was speaking with ease to the family. My progress allowed me to be closer to the oldest sisters. We became good friends. She also introduced me to her friend and they quickly became mine. I was having all my free-time with theme. That mad me realized how it’s important to never give up and try to fight your weakness.
