I used to be a photography major and even though I quit I am still very passionate about photography everything and anything to do with photography. When Polaroid announced it would stop making film I cried. I remembered how much I loved having this instant pretty little picture when I was younger and how much I missed that. Then I discovered Fujifilm had something very similar so I instantly started doing my research to decided which of Fujifilm’s instant film cameras would suit my needs. Before I had a chance to decide I won their Mini 7s from Bcbg Max Azria on twitter. I ecstatic! It came with film but I instantly bought more film and I went through it all extremely quickly. This was in May of 2011.
About a month or two ago my camera didn’t work and I just figured it needed new batteries even though I had just replaced the old ones not too long ago. So I went out bought new batteries and nothing, it still didn’t work I thought this was odd since I had always taken such good care of it why would it start acting up now out of nowhere. When I first received it I bought a hard case to keep it safe. Now I had a couple of new packs of film, and batteries and my camera wasn’t working. So I called Fujifilm’s customer service line and the first question I received is it a year old, which of course it wasn’t. Great they told me to send my camera in and I would only be charged the cost of shipping, which sounded fine to me. Then they said to make sure I had the receipt for it. I then tried to explain that I won it in a contest in May and had no receipt. Oh well they said so you’re going to have to pay for its repairs. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!?!?!! I tried to explain my situation but no one cared. THIS CAMERA IS BRAND NEW AND I’VE KEPT IT IN GREAT CONDITION!!!! The yelling was only going on in my head. I’ve worked customer service jobs and I’ll never be rude to someone also working customer service but they were very rude and unhelpful, total disappointment in Fujifilm and their customer service. The camera did put a smile on my face, now it’s in my closet collecting dust because I refuse to spend anymore on a camera that’s worth $60.
Thanks for letting me vent! These are things to consider if you are thinking about buy a Fujifilm Instant Camera
